The Haunted Mines in Colorado

Here’s something that is sure to give you a fright next Halloween: The Haunted Mines located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This is quite possibly one of the most creative and unique “haunted houses” located in the West. Most people are used to the traditional haunted houses and can get bored of the same old thing. But the haunted mines are sure to be something you have never witnessed before. This frightening attraction was created on 26 acres, formerly used as a dairy farm in the 1800’s. With such a long history, this attraction is sure to be a scare.

Get your running shoes on! This attraction will require you to have a sharp mind and will have you dashing, ducking and crawling all over the place. You’ll find planked bridges, walkways and beams to run across. You will be expected to run, jump, climb and run through parts of this haunted attraction. The frights and the physical exercise are sure to get your heart rate going. The worst, and by worse we mean best, thing of all may be the small and cramped passageway to climb through. Just enough space is provided to pull your body through to make it out. It certainly would be a claustrophobic nightmare.

Did we mention the bats? Oh yeah. There are hundreds of bats that visit this attraction and, yes, they are real. Every year, these bats migrate to Next Mexico and on their way they spend some time on the 26 acre lot. So if you feel one land on your head, just know that it is real.
For those who are willing to try this scary experience, be sure that you dress like you are going hiking. Women should not wear skirts or dresses because part of the attraction requires that you crawl on your hands and knees as you escape the mines. Be as comfortable as possible and be sure to wear your running shoes so you can climb, run, jump and escape the haunted terrors in the attraction.
