| Bygone Times, the popular Victorian shopping village and tourist attraction in Eccleston, Chorley, is set to undergo a frightening metamorphosis over the coming months, as it is transformed into a Halloween horror show that is set to be a UK first!
Bygone Times has commissioned live event production company ‘AtmosFEAR!’ to create a terrifying tourist attraction that brings the horrors of the building’s haunted past vividly to life. At a traditionally quiet time of year, it is hoped that the show, called ‘Ghost Encounter LIVE’ will draw visitors from far and wide.
An experience to DIE for!
The 38,000 square foot horror attraction will be a live action interactive experience that quite literally brings the dead back to life! AtmosFEAR! mixes live actors, special effects and chilling history to create an immersive experience that leaves the audience SCREAMING for more! Unlucky visitors might bump into ‘The Demon Butcher’ or ‘The Black Widow Bride’ as they make their way through the show…
The ‘scare’ industry is relatively new to the UK, but is already established across the pond in the USA. AtmosFEAR! is uniquely placed to produce these kind of interactive shows with 15 years experience producing haunted entertainment at venues across the country. Their previous clients include The Walt Disney Company, Virgin and Merlin Entertainments.

Producer Jason Karl said “Bygone Times is perfect for our Halloween spooktacular, it will easily be transformed into a disturbing world of ghosts and ghouls who are DYING to meet the visitors! We have created a strong back story for the show, which is relayed as visitors walk through the experience. Inspired by true historical events, it is the tragic tale of a powerful Victorian family and a 17th century curse. Our ‘Terror Technicians’ have been creating this kind of show for several years, but this is by far the largest location we have worked in. Over the coming months we will be filling it with special effects, scary performers and surprises for those daring enough to enter”.
AtmosFEAR! Ghost Encounter LIVE will unlock its doors from Saturday 20th October until Friday 2nd November inclusive. The show operates from 7pm nightly. Tickets are on sale now, priced £13 per person – to book call 01257 451889. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
