There is a place in Plymouth Meeting where even the bravest fear to tread. A place where the only thing louder than screams is your beating heart. You have stumbled into LuLu Shriners House of Horrors. This October, and for the fifth year, the Shriners are running their Haunted House on (weekends) Friday, Saturday & Sunday nights starting October 8th through Halloween. LuLu Shrine is located on twenty three acres in Plymouth Meeting, PA at 5140 Butler Pike and this haunted house is not for the squeamish or faint of heart. In fact, it is not recommended for children under the age of twelve. Many people are familiar with the Shriners through parades and their main endeavor – Shriners Hospitals. LuLu Shrine hosts three major fund raisers each year. Namely a Circus in May, a professional Rodeo in September, and of course their House of Horrors in October. This is a major undertaking for the Shriners because it really takes all year to prepare for thirteen nights. While all the work (and acting) is done by volunteers, it is a professional and very well done attraction. Visitors have ranked it as one of the best (and scariest) haunted houses they have ever gone to. It starts in the arena where you board a creaky wagon for a ride through the haunted woods in the dark of night. The wagon makes several stops along the way where you meet some pretty creepy characters. You disembark at the entrance to the deadly graveyard. Walk through the cemetery and find yourself on the doorstep to the House of Horrors. Dare to enter and find horror at every turn. Survive and re-board the wagons for the return trip through different woods. Here you will find even more nerve chilling events until you finally return and exit through their haunted Corn Maze which leads back to the arena. And you get it all for $20. There is even a $5 off coupon for Sunday nights. Groups of fifteen or more are $15 each. Once back safely in the arena you can enjoy music and food, if you have the stomach for it. B104 will tour on October 15th, Q102 Radio will broadcast live on October 22nd and WXTU will be there on October 29th.
