The Alliance Theater
Located in the town that shares its namesake, The Alliance Theater is believed to be haunted by a female ghost named Mary who suffered a tragic accident in the theater. Mary was considered to be one of the best actresses at the theater, performing with great skill and talent. One night when Mary walked out on stage, one of the light fixtures fell on her and Mary was killed by electric shock and the weight of the fixture. To this day, after the theater has closed at night, the ghost of Mary is said to wander the stage, eternally waiting for an audience applause that never comes.
Jewel Park
Located in Bellevue, Jewel Park is known to have an extremely high number of strange occurrences and paranormal activity. For instance, there have been numerous accounts of bizarre sounds, footprints in the dirt even though no one else is around, a thick mist or fog on clear nights, and strange animal sounds. There are even some reports of individuals seeing what appear to be apparitions of people and random objects appearing and then disappearing by the time you turn back around.
Boyscout Lake
Legend has it that years ago a family lived in Clatonia near the area of Boyscout Lake. One particularly harsh winter, the woman sent her children out to help her husband with the farm chores. When hours passed and they didn’t return, she went looking for them and ended up freezing to death. Her family had taken shelter in the barn and survived the storm. Legend has it the ghost of the woman can be seen walking around the lake still searching for her family. Allegedly, whenever she appears, you can also hear a bizarre, evil growling noise.
Scary Acres
Scary Acres (located in Omaha) is known as one of Nebraska’s scariest haunted houses and attractions. With more than 20 acres of pure terror, Scary Acres features a the “Stalks of Terror Corn Maze” which has only one way in and one way out, the creepy “Dark Forest,” and the frightening “House on the Hill” that sits atop a hill.
